Debbie's PlaceMakeing new friends on my space and shareing my day! September 21 Shared by a friend (The Restroom)THE RESTROOM
When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women so you smile politely and take your place. As you get closer a door finally opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall. You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter.
The dispenser for the modern "seat covers" (invented by someone's Mom no doubt) is handy but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there were one, but there isn't - so you hang your purse around your neck, (Mom would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR), yank down your pants and assume "The Stance."
In this position your aging, toneless thigh muscles begin to shake. You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold "The Stance."
To take your mind off your trembling thighs you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind you can hear your mother's voice saying "Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!" Your thighs shake more.
You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday - the one that's still in your purse. That would have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It is still smaller than your thumbnail. Someone pushes open your door because of the broken latch!
The door hits your purse and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet. "Occupied!" you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT. It is wet of course.
You bolt up, knowing all too well that it is too late. Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try.
You know that your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain, her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly dear, "You just don't know what kind of diseases you could get." By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a fire hose that somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in too. At that point, you give up.
You are soaked by the spewing water and wet toilet seat. You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out to the sinks. You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women. You are no longer ABLE to smile politely to them.
A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when you needed it?) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, "Here, you just might need this."
As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used and left the men's restroom. Annoyed, he asks "What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?"
......This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public restroom (rest???). It finally explains to men what really takes us so long. It also answers their other question about why women go to the bathroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can hold the door, hang on to our purse and hand you Kleenex under the door. September 09 Hello AgainHello everyone, well I haven't been here for quite awhile. Just kind of took the summer off. Went to my son Robert's wedding in Maine, also to visit my Mom in Ct. She is elderly and I like to visit when I can make the trip to help her out. If I ever get the wedding pictures downloaded I will put them up. I am so lazy about getting that stuff done LOL. Well just wanted to say hi and let you know I won't be such a stranger anymore. Have a great weekend. Catch you later. Yankee June 02 Happy Weekend!I have a list of folks I know all written in a book, And every now and then I go and take a look.
That is when I realize these names they are a part, not of the book they're written in... but taken from the heart. For each Name stands for someone who has crossed my path sometime, and in that meeting they have become the reason and the rhyme.
Although it sounds fantastic for me to make this claim, I really am composed of each remembered name. Although you're not aware of any special link, just knowing you, has shaped my life more than you could think.
So please don't think my greeting as just a mere routine, For when I send a greeting that is addressed to you, It's because you're on the list of folks I'm indebted to. So whether I have known you for many days or few,
In some ways you have a part in shaping things I do. I am but a total of the many folks I've met, You are a friend I would prefer.. never to forget. --author unknown Have a wonderful day, Love and Hugs Debbie May 30 This is goodMay 25 This truck is awesome! When you get to the site just click on the thumbnails to view larger pictures. http://thunderatdeathcorps.250free.com/Webpages/john_holmgren_truck.htm This is pretty awesome. March 31 Happy WeekendHello everyone, so sorry not to be here but I was visiting my sister and then working on the remodel and there dose not seem to be enough hours in the day! Well we spring ahead this weekend WOO-HOO the days will be getting longer and soon everyone will be nice and warm. You all have a great weekend. Debbie March 17 Happy St. Patricks DayClick to Play! Walls for the winds, A roof for the rain, Tea beside the fire, Laughter to cheer you, Those you love near you, And all your heart might desire! May you be in Heaven a half hour before the Devil knows you're dead! When Irish eyes are smiling, Tis like a morn in spring. With a lilt of Irish laughter You can hear the angels sing When Irish hearts are happy All the world is bright and gay When Irish eyes are smiling Sure, they steal your heart away. May your blessings outnumber The shamrocks that grow, And may trouble avoid you Wherever you go. There are many good reasons for drinking, One has just entered my head. If a man doesn't drink when he's living, How in the hell can he drink when he's dead? May the best day of your past Be the worst day of your future. I'm looking over a four leaf clover That I overlooked before One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain, Third is the roses that grow in the lane. No need explaining the one remaining Is somebody I adore. I'm looking over a four leaf clover That I overlooked before. May you live to be a hundred years With one extra year to repent. May those who love us, love us And those who don't love us, May God turn their hearts And if he can't turn their hearts, May he turn their ankles So we will know them by their limping! As you slide down the banister of life, May the splinters never point in the wrong direction! May luck be our companion May friends stand by our side May history remind us all Of Ireland's faith and pride. May God bless us with happiness May love and faith abide. Leprechauns, castles, good luck and laughter Lullabies, dreams, and love ever after. Poems and songs with pipes and drums A thousand welcomes when anyone comes. That's the Irish for you! There's a dear little plant that grows in our isle, 'Twas St. Patrick himself, sure, that sets it; And the sun of his labor with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the mireland, And they call it the dear little Shamrock of Ireland. May your neighbors respect you, Troubles neglect you, The angels protect you, And Heaven accept you. May you have: A world of wishes at your command God and his angels close at hand Friends and family their love impart, And Irish blessings in you heart. May God grant you many years to live, For sure he must be knowing The earth has angels all to few And Heaven is overflowing. These things I warmly wish to you- Someone to love Some work to do A bit o' sun A bit o' cheer And a guardian angel always near. Here's to a long life and a merry one A quick death and an easy one A pretty girl and an honest one A cold beer and another one! May your pockets be heavy and your heart be light, May good luck pursue you each morning and night, O Ireland isn't it grand you look like a bride in her rich adornin? And with all the pent up love of my heart I bid you the top o' the mornin! May the lilt of lush laughter lighten ever road, May the midst of Irish magic shorten every road. May you taste the sweetest pleasures that fortune ever bestowed, And may all your friends remember all the favors you are owed. Go mbeannai Dia duit (May God Bless You) May your home always be too small to hold all your friends. God is good, but never dance in a small boat. May you live as long as you want, And never want as long as you live. If you're enough lucky to be Irish... You're lucky enough! My wild Irish rose
